The Commission Guide seems to exclude them, but the poster feels that the actual wording of the Directive is less clear. Also, are there fields from transformers that might be of concern vis-à-vis other equipment in the vicinity?

A poster to the Forum is experiencing problems when using FIP gaskets. The product in question is affected by the ESD strike (8 kV contact), and the poster wonders whether the structure of the gasket is causing impedance that results in slot-antenna like internal radiation.

A posting to the Forum notes that GR-1089, clause 4.6.2 on “intrabuilding surge test” has an exception for shielded cables grounded at each end. This is supported by Verizon document http://www.verizonnebs.com/TPRs/VZ-TPR-9305.pdf. (See clause 7.2.12.1.) Does this conclusion reflect current practice.
